@dEEPAK dude.. check out yahoo messenger 8 final released.. like two days ago. those registry hacks won’t remove the bottom ad banner for this version. since sandeep dude’s post is from y’day i assume he’s actually right. not about ym 7.5 ‘course.
@dies.irae ohh.. is it so? actually for the past 2 weeks i’m on linux.. so i haven’t tried Y! 8 final yet.. i’ll check it out and see if i get any solution…
@dEEPAK there appears to be a solution even for y!m 8 final – at least it did the trick for me. something i came across 2day browsing, seems like it’s still based on those registry keys but then again, more: it wipes Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache\urls.xml and sets it to read-only. and yes they insist you should have y!m closed while making these changes.. they included a clean batch file to do the job. check this solution on: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2006/05/no-more-ads-in-yahoo-messenger.html

Sorry about not posting in a while
I have build a .NET version of my Ad Destroy
available on my site :)
It should work on x32 and x64 vista
You should run it as administrator
Ad Destroy .NET beta and Ad Destroy 3.7 will patch all 3 9.0 beta builds
9.0.0.797
9.0.0.907
9.0.0.922
9.0 messenger trys to actively turn off read only on the urls.xml file.
Ad destroy will stop messenger doing that :)
People who are having problems with ads still showing from your ISP, just enter 0 in the custom registry field instead of *
Have fun!

Talking about the strength of papers doesn’t conflate with believing the problems are cyclical. ,
